What insurance do I need to drive with Uber?
You need valid private hire insurance that covers the type of licensed driving you do and meets the requirements of your licensing authority. If you are licensed by Transport for London, Uber says your insurance must be from a provider accepted by Uber in London and integrated with its Instadoc verification process.
Does the portal compare every insurer?
No. The Driver Insurance Services portal uses a selected panel of participating insurers. It does not include every insurance provider accepted by Uber in London.
Am I guaranteed to receive a quote?
No. A quote may not be available. Whether an insurer offers cover, and the price and terms offered, depend on your circumstances, the information you provide and the insurer's underwriting criteria.
Will the cheapest quote always be shown?

What if I drive outside London?
Requirements can vary outside London. Uber states that you may choose another insurance provider provided your policy covers the type of licensed driving you do and meets the requirements of your licensing authority and Uber's document requirements.
