Frequently asked Public Liability questions

Most frequent questions and answers

Public liability insurance coverage helps to protect taxi
drivers from financial losses in the event that they are held
liable for third-party property damage or bodily injury while
carrying out their work

All taxi drivers, whether they work for a taxi company or operate independently, should consider purchasing public liability insurance to protect themselves financially in case of accidents or incidents on the job.

Public liability insurance for taxi drivers typically covers costs related to property damage, medical expenses, and legal fees in case of an accident or incident involving a third party.

The amount of public liability insurance that taxi drivers need will vary based on several factors, such as the type of taxi service they offer, the location where they operate, and the size of their vehicle. It’s best to consult with a specialist insurance provider for a personalised quote.

If a taxi driver is involved in an accident and does not have public liability insurance, they may be personally responsible for paying for any damages or injuries caused to third parties. This can result in significant financial losses for the driver.

Frequently asked Legal Expense questions

Most frequent questions and answers

A legal expenses policy for taxi drivers is a type of insurance coverage that provides financial protection in case of legal disputes related to their job as a taxi driver.

A legal expenses policy for taxi drivers typically covers the costs of hiring a lawyer, court fees, and other legal expenses up to £100,000 in case of a lawsuit related to their job as a taxi driver. This may include disputes over fares, personal injury claims, and other legal issues.

A legal expenses policy is important for taxi drivers because it can provide financial protection in case of a legal dispute, which can result in significant legal fees and expenses. By having a legal expenses policy, taxi drivers can help to cover the costs that may arise in relation to this.

A legal expenses policy for taxi drivers may not cover legal disputes that arise from intentional acts, criminal behavior, or disputes that occurred before the policy was in effect. It is important to carefully review the terms and conditions of the policy to understand the scope of coverage.
